From Opposition To Resistance

Finally, I'm posting about the vote on health care reform that took place this past Sunday. I waited because I wasn't sure about what to say and, honestly, I'm still not quite sure what to say so I'm just going to speak from the heart. The passage of the Democrats' health care bill is a disaster for America, and it's not primarily because of what's actually in the bill. The primary problem, the real tragedy about the passage of Obamacare, is the way it happened.

America is a representative republic. That means that government officials are elected by the people to do the will of the people. Governments throughout history have exercised power, but according to our Founding Fathers just governmental power can exist ONLY by the consent of the governed. "The governed" is We the People, but where was our consent on Sunday? The Democrats were wiping their collective ass with it, that's where it was.

What happened Sunday wasn't government of the people, by the people, or for the people; it was government OVER the people. It was the way they govern in Cuba, in Venezuela, in North Korea, and in the now defunct Soviet Union. If Americans ever wondered what one party rule looks like, it was on full display Sunday. Not only was the opposition party dissed, so where the folks. The Democrats tossed the principle of representative democracy and acted like an oligarchy. And then they had the unmitigated gall to expect Americans to be grateful to them for it. Well, we are not!

We the people, the governed, told our representatives we didn't want their "reform" and we are OUTRAGED at being so contemptuously dismissed. And we're outraged that the opposition party was contemptuously dismissed, too. No, we aren't angry because we love the Republicans. We're mad because, in our democracy, the minority party is supposed to be respected as the loyal opposition that, though out of power, is still an integral part of the governing process. The minority party is NOT to be treated like an enemy to be vanquished. But, drunk on power and ideology, that's exactly how the Dems treated the Republicans on Sunday. And we, the people, are left to fearfully wonder what the Dems, in their righteous zeal, are going to impose on us next.

Will it be cap and trade? Amnesty for illegals? Gay marriage? A nationwide ban on gun ownership? Federal control over how you heat and cool your home? An order for all public schools to give, without parental knowledge or consent, birth control to any student who wants it? This is all part of the far-left agenda that Obama and the Dems passionately believe in. And the Dems will always trot out some "good" cause to justify their every violation of democracy and the people's will.

We have to fight global warming. We have to stop teen pregnancy. We have to stop gun crime. We have to create social justice. Social justice, SOCIAL JUSTICE, SOCIAL JUSTICE! We can't let petty concerns about representative government stand in the way of transforming America for the better. That's what their justification will be. And they'll think nothing can stop them, but they're wrong.

In this hour when the majority party and its leader have chosen to act like an unaccountable aristocracy the minority party, along with the people, must transform from the loyal opposition into the resistance. It is time to resist! We must resist the socialization of America. We must resist the slide into dictatorial, one party rule. We must resist the arrogant wielding of power by the ideologues entrenched in Havana-on-the-Potomac.

Obama is a socialist dictator wannabe but he ain't gonna be. We, the people, are still here and still strong. We are the real power in this country, just as the Founders intended. The loyal opposition is gone. The resistance has arrived and come November heads will roll.

Bring it on!

Barry the Pimp made unsustainable promises; Madam Bela Pelosi of the Party of Whores, threw more money (out of the drained wallets of the taxpayers) and promises gawhore to the members of the Party of Whores, and they sold their votes for marxist ideology, dressed up like hellthscare.

Of course, THEY will be impacted in no way by the plan; THEY are all exempted. And for something that was so important to jam down our throats so quickly, the so-called 'targeted uninsured' won't see this disaster kick in for up to four years. BUT, the taxes and fees will start almost immediately (as in AFTER the Nov 2010 elections). And Barry the Pimp is now on the road, lying about what he's played on the American people: a command and control takeover of one-sixth of the US economy, an economy he and his marxist-oriented, business-inept friends are running into the ground.

First we FIRE as many Party of Whores candidates and incumbents as possible in November; and then we start the battle to stop the erosion of the Constitution, and ironically, abort this abomination of Barry the Pimp.

No, you're so very wrong. What happened on Sunday was the very display of REPRESENTATIVE democracy. President Obama was elected as president and one of his platforms was Health care reform. he had a duty to see it through and he did. Stop believing the hyped Fox news propaganda that anti-HCR is shared by the overwhelming majority of Americans, it isn't. When you refer to "we the people" you mean "we the teabaggers". You are arrogant, ignorant, and not representative of this country. After health care was passed the next day 49% of Americans said they supported its passage, compared to 40% who didn't. Those who don't have arguments that easily derided by the fact that they are based in falsehoods stemmed from right wing fear politics.

The mindless radicalism you display in your post is exactly why the FBI declared right wing extremists to be so dangerous. Its the way you exhibit your beliefs that gets in the way of civil discourse in this country.

BTW, for the past year the Health care bill has been changed and degraded to APPEASE the arrogant pussballs across the alley.

Health care reform isn't socialism, Obama cannot possibly be a dictator since the bill was passed by the majority of the house. Just stop, please. You're stupid is detrimental to the nation you profess to love.

"Bela" Pelosi is the best Speaker this country has seen in at leas 100 years.

Jane! I was waiting for you to show up, and now that you have I can't for the life of me understand why. But I'll respond to you just in case your three brain cells are functioning today.

I'll ask you a question, Jane, in all seriousness. If you believe so strongly in civil debate, why do you continuously refer to Tea Party protestors--and other Obama critics--as "teabaggers"? Do you really think you're promoting civil debate with that slur?

And why weren't you and your leftie friends concerned about civil debate when y'all were calling Bush a war criminal, a tyrant, a Nazi, a terrorist, and another Hilter?

Admit it, chicka. You don't give a damn about civility. All you leftists' clamoring for civility is just a smokescreen to obscure your desire to silence your opposition. You've failed in that endeavor and that's why you're so pissed off. Sorry, chicka, but dissent from Obama's policies and ideology will NEVER be silenced!

And don't give me that BS about "dangerous right-wing extremists". Give me one example, Janeycakes, of violence at a Tea Party protest. You can't because they've been 100% peaceful. Of course, that won't stop you from smearing them as "dangerous", but such smears will only make you look like an idiot for twisting reality. So, by all means, twist away.

Lastly, you're right. Obama did run on a platform of health care reform, but that doesn't mean that the people wanted THIS kind of reform. And even if they did want it in the beginning, they eventually changed their minds. From at least last summer until the day of the vote, the majority of Americans were AGAINST Obamacare, yet the Congress passed it anyway, AGAINST the will of the people. That's NOT representative gov't, Janeycakes.

Yes, Obama got a little bump the day he signed the bill into law, but that bump as since evaporated, and the majority of the people want the GOP to keep fighting Obamacare. So who represents the country, chicka? Hint: it ain't you!

The American people want health care reform; they DON'T want Obamacare. They told their representatives that and were ignored. That's why they're mad as hell now, and that's why the Dems will bite the dust in November. And I can't wait.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, chicka!

Not true.

Thankfully I have the links to back up my position....so it's not mere "opinion."

According to Rasmussen's Polling, "Just before the House of Representatives passed sweeping health care legislation last Sunday, 41% of voters nationwide favored the legislation while 54% were opposed. Now that President Obama has signed the legislation into law, most voters want to see it repealed.

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, conducted on the first two nights after the president signed the bill, shows that 55% favor repealing the legislation. Forty-two percent (42%) oppose repeal. Those figures include 46% who Strongly Favor repeal and 35% who Strongly Oppose it.

SEE: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/march_2010/55_favor_repeal_of_health_care_bill

So, BEFORE passage, 54% OPPOSED the Bill and 41% supported it...AFTER its passage 55% support REPEAL and only 42% oppose repeal.

Just as FDR a hyper-Keynesian Democrat followed Hoover (a Republican Keynesian) and Jimmy Carter (another hyper-Keynesian Democrat) followed Richard M Nixon (yet another Republican Keynesian over-spender and over-regulator), we now have another Democratic hyper-Keynesian (Barack Obama) following another Republican Keynesian (G W Bush, who spent MORE, even adj for inflation, than LBJ did on reckless social spending, while delivering over 1,000 pages of regulation every year).

The current economic morass was caused by (1) government's reckless and irresponsible meddling and micro-managing the banking industry and (2) reckless and excessive government spending.

It'll only be turned around when we drastically shrink government, implement draconian cuts in "entitlement spending" and cut tax rates across the board and free the private sector to create the jobs we desperately need.

First, JMK weighs in with facts and figures to completely explode and destroy the straw house of ignorance and misleading lies that Jihad Janeycakes posted.

But, shore 'nuff came Jihad Janeycakes, back with her libtard flatulence and absolute lack of accuracy, honesty, and credibility! Three jeers for Jihad Janeycakes and her libtard drivel!

Can you get absolutely NOTHING right, Jihad Janeycakes? Are you seriously that ineptly stupid? No, wait...you're a libtard, subeducated in the dumbed-down progressive public schools. Never mind. Asked and answered.

Damn! And I missed THAT!!!

I've yet to have anyone on the left actually make an affirmative argument for their views....which I believe is why none of them challenge me over at my place.

Funny stuff.
