Guest Column: Obama Has Failed

Hey friends! While I'm out of sorts because of chemo a blogging friend of mine, Robert, has offered to do a guest column for my blog. I hope you enjoy Robert's insightful post and check out his blog, "Wise Conservatism", in the blog roll. Happy reading!

Obama has failed.......even as he is pushing his "so called" Summer of Recovery.

If you tell a lie enough times, eventually, the people will begin to believe it as the truth. That is what we have happening now. Obama, is saying over and over again, that this is the summer of recovery, when in fact it isn't happening. But, saying it over and over and over again, does not make it so.
-Robert Garding-

That quote tells it like it is. The Gaffe-o-Matic Joe Biden keeps doing that, too. It seems that the entire left end of the spectrum in our government are there only for progagating the same lie, in the hopes that we, the American people fall for it, as we always have in the past. I will explain this in a bit. But they do not stop there.

Even after a year of working the economy the way they want, they still turn to Bush bashing and blaming Bush for the troubles that they are having. Historically, it has been proven, that liberalism and Socialism do not work. Liberalism, if left to it’s own devices, implodes like we are seeing now. They start out with government programs to help the needy. This in itself is not a bad thing. No one ever said it was. But, like I said, it doesn’t stop there. Liberalism will not work unless it grows government. A big government, and our constitution are not compatible. Just like Sharia Law and our Constitution are not compatible.

This is something that bothers me, and I know it bothers Seane-Anna, and the rest of America who do not like what Obama is doing. The fact is the left is so disconnected from the American people, and that they do not care to get connected to us, is insulting. It's insulting because they feel we are too stupid to know what we want. It is really galling that Obama and his gang really think the American people are dumb enough to fall for their propaganda. And Propaganda is what it all is folks. It’s as if they think we can't see reality, even though we're the ones living it, not Obama and his limousine liberal friends. They cannot seem to tell the truth to us no matter what, but they think that their lies are not detected by us either.

Now it is like I said a few paragraphs ago. They think that we believe their lies, mainly because we have allowed them to be implemented in the past. I have a sort of historical perspective on this, because in my 58 years, I have seen freedom after freedom taken away from us in the name of bigger government and more governmental programs. Freedoms like being able to pray in school. Freedoms like learning America is a great nation. Freedoms like learning the truth, which for the most part isn't taught anymore in government schools. Freedoms like being able to put our children into private schools. That freedom isn't gone yet, but you can see the government trying to take that one too.

In Chicago, the second amendment of the Constitution does not apply anymore because the average person cannot own or possess handguns. This did not happen overnight either. It started out small, with a law to help the police fight crime. When that didn’t work they went to the next step. And on and on, always with the same pretext that if we do this, the desired effect will happen. The trouble is, the desired effect of the government, and the desired effect of the people soon parted ways, and the people didn’t speak up....and we ended up with the second amendment of our constitution being junked in Chicago by the usual thuggish style of politics, and criminal polticians, that has now hit the White House.

Chicagoans allowed their rights to bear arms to be taken away from them. We are now fighting it, because we see what is going on. The difference being is that Chicago had it happen to them over generations. We are seeing it happen in less than a decade. That is the other side of Liberalism. They start out slow, and when they get what they want, which is total power, they go power crazy and start implementing their ideals with no regard to what the people want. And there is the disconnect from the people. It is the same as the analogy of the Frog. Drop it into a boiling pot of water and it will leap out to keep from boiling to death. Put it in cool water, and slowly heat it up, the Frog will sit there and cook because it doesn’t see or feel the danger of what is coming before it’s too late. That is how the liberals have pushed they’re agenda since the beginning. Things that are seen as normal today would have been completely rebuffed 50 years ago if tried then.

We the people, still see the Constitution as the document that forms this Republic into the great nation that she is. They the liberal left, sees the Constitution as a document that is flawed and in the way of the things they want to do. Nancy Pelosi spoke it right out in the open a few months ago, when a reporter asked her if the Health care bill was Constitutional. Her reply was telling if nothing else, when she said, ‘Are you kidding???’ Fortunately, the reporter wasn’t kidding. UNFORTUNATELY, Pelosi wasn’t either. That is how these liberals believe. But there is more.

On October the 29th of 2008, before the election was voted on Thomas Sowell said this about an Obama Presidency. And his words have all but come true. Read them:

"........if Sen. Barack Obama wins, it is more likely to be historic — and catastrophic.
Once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style will mean nothing. Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign. Performance is where Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.

Policies he proposes under the change banner are almost all policies that have been tried repeatedly in other countries — and failed repeatedly in other countries.
Politicians telling businesses how to operate? That’s been tried in countries around the world, especially during the second half of the 20th century. It has failed so often and so badly that even socialist and communist governments were freeing up their markets by the end of the century. The economies of China and India began to take off into high rates of growth when they got rid of precisely the kinds of policies that Obama is advocating for the United States under the magic mantra of change.

Putting restrictions on international trade in order to save jobs at home? That was tried here with the Hawley-Smoot tariff during the Great Depression.
Unemployment was 9 percent when that tariff was passed to save jobs, but unemployment went up instead of down and reached 25 percent before the decade was over.

Higher taxes to “spread the wealth around,” as Obama puts it? The idea of redistributing wealth has turned into the reality of redistributing poverty, in countries where wealth has fled and a lack of incentives has stifled the production of new wealth.

Economic disasters, however, may pale by comparison with the catastrophe of Iran with nuclear weapons. Glib rhetoric about Iran’s being “a small country,” as Obama called it, will be a bitter irony for Americans who will have to live in the shadow of a nuclear threat that cannot be deterred, as that of the Soviet Union could be, by the threat of a nuclear counterattack. Suicidal fanatics cannot be deterred. If they are willing to die and we are not, then we are at their mercy — and they have no mercy. Moreover, once they get nuclear weapons, that situation cannot be reversed.
Is this the legacy we wish to leave our children and grandchildren, by voting on the basis of style and symbolism, rather than substance?

If Barack Obama thinks that such a catastrophe can be avoided by sitting down and talking with the leaders of Iran, then he is repeating a fallacy that helped bring on World War II. In a nuclear age, one country does not have to send troops to occupy another country to conquer it. A country is conquered if another country can dictate who rules it, as the Mongols once did with Russia, and as Osama bin Laden tried to do when he threatened retaliation against places in the United States that voted for President Bush. But he didn’t have nuclear weapons to back up that threat — yet.

America has never been a conquered country, so it may be very hard for most Americans even to conceive what that can mean. After France was conquered in 1940, it was reduced to turning over some of its own innocent citizens to the Nazis to kill, just because those citizens were Jewish. Do you think our leaders wouldn’t do that? Not even if the alternative was to see New York and Los Angeles go up in mushroom clouds? If I were Jewish, I wouldn’t bet my life on that.

What the Middle East fanatics want is not just our resources or even our lives, but our humiliation first, in whatever sadistic ways they can think of. Their lust for humiliation has been demonstrated repeatedly in their videotaped beheadings that find such an eager market in the Middle East. None of this can be prevented by glib talk, but only by character, courage, and decisive actions, none of which Obama has ever demonstrated."

Now, after months and a few years since that was printed by Thomas Sowell, can you see that he was right? If you can’t, then you are still stuck in Obama’s mantra chant of “change change change” because you do not like America as a free nation. But if you are a Patriotic and Freedom loving American, then you can see it only too well.

Obama told us when the Stimulus was being pushed, that if we didn’t pass it, and spend those hundreds of billions of dollars, that we didn’t have, then Unemployment would continue to go up and the economy would crash and burn. He said if it was passed, unemployment would not go above 8%. It has and it continues to hover at or above 10% now. And the government is now telling us that is the new normal. HUH????

It’s just like in Chicago. For generations they were telling the people, get the guns off the streets. If guns are outlawed, there will be no crime. But crime flourished there. Why? Because the people’s ability to defend themselves against the criminals was taken away. When guns were outlawed, only the outlaws had the guns. Where there is no protection for the people, crime WILL flourish, with abandon. As it has in Chicago.

It is then, when they’re ideas do not work, that they turn to the other tactic that they have always used. And that is out and out lying. As with Chuck Schumer in 2008 said, when trying to help the liberal cause, that "Conservatism is akin to porn."

The evidences are all there to tell the American people that Liberalism will NOT work under any circumstances. Yet, the politicians on the left continue to push it on us, and like in the last election, we continue to fall for it.

They have pushed their socialistic health care bill on us, just as Europe is opting out of the same system because it didn’t work! And the same can be said about almost everything that Obama has tried to push on us since becoming president. And yet, even after more than a year in office.....he is still trying the same thing that the Liberals would not allow anyone else to get away with. And that is blame the previous administration, and not taking credit for the fiasco that He himself has caused. And that is the last thing I wish to talk about when it comes to the liberals. Their ideals will never work. But when they don’t work, they place the blame elsewhere. Always elsewhere. Never where the blame actually belongs. And that is the implementation of ideals that will never work. They have historically proven to never work, and those ideals at this very moment, all over the world, are not working and are being stopped because of it. But not here. Obama is pushing these same failed agenda’s saying that we need to do this to save the economy. He is so moronic at times. But so can we be.

When are we going to learn? America is a great country. America is a strong country. But America can be destroyed. The left right now, is on the path to doing just that. Is that what we Americans want? I mentioned to my children just the other day, that for the first time in my time, I can actually say, that if we do not change the path that the liberal government has placed us on, that that I can see a world, where America will NOT exist when they are adults. That to me is a sad thing to consider. I hope it is to all other patriotic Americans.....

Are You Liberal Or Conservative?

This is a cool post I found on the Independent Thinkers Lounge blog. I asked the author, Southern Sage, if I could put this post here and he said yes. Have a look see and find out if you're a liberal or a conservative.

Are You Liberal Or Conservatie?

The truest comparison I have ever seen!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns,he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black or Hispanic man is conservative, he sees himself as independently successful. His liberal counterpart sees himself as a victim in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who's going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

Ifa conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll send it to his friends and they'll have a good laugh. A liberal won't delete it because he's "offended", he will cry and piss himself and lay in the fetal position in his own urine for the rest of the day because that's what liberals do.

Hope all's well!

"A Thank You Note"

In honor of the Chosen One's 100th day in office I'm reprinting a thank you letter from a group of his very special friends. Enjoy.

A Thank You Note
transcribed by Roadie on behalf of Benevolent Leader's special friends

Dear President Obama,

Just a note to say thank you for your tireless effort in supporting our cause. As I'm sure you know, our organization has been around for a long time, and we've had many obstacles along the way. Though we have many members not everyone is "on board" with our program. Some are just not as receptive to our agenda as others. This alone has made our success more difficult and challenging, but our persistence and resolve has carried us a long way. Now, with your help, many of the hurdles we've encountered over the years have been removed in most cases, or reduced in others. Your predecessor was not "down" with our cause and proved to be a major impediment to our goals. Whenever we would try to put together a new project, he would find some way to throw the proverbial "wrench" into our works. It seemed that no matter what direction we would turn, he and his associates would be there waiting to deter our progress.

When we heard of your election, it was like a breath of fresh air. A collective sigh of relief could be heard throughout our organization. We knew our efforts to ensure your election were not in vain, and we regret we could not do more to help your campaign. Thanks to the policies that you have already instituted our group has seen a major resurgence in both recruiting and "R & D". Your proposed policies have given us the shot in the arm we've needed for some years now, and our hopes for the future have never been brighter. Your cabinet appointments along with those of other key positions are nothing less than a Godsend to us. It's so nice to finally have people in [the] American government who are willing to get out of our way and let us do our work without...interference.

Rather than detail our plans for the immediate future, we thought it would be more entertaining to implement them unannounced. We can only hope that you will be able to witness our plans coming to fruition personally. We want you to experience the result[s] of your cooperation first hand.

In closing, we are finding it hard to put into words our eternal gratitude for your help in regenerating our hopes and allowing us to work harder to meet our goals. So we would simply like to say "thank you" from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,

Al Qaeda

Presidents don't flub the oath of office.

Presidents don't even consider making soldiers pay for their own medical care.

Presidents don't have time for "brackets".

Presidents don't plan to cut military spending in a time of war...or a time of peace.

Presidents don't plan to cut weapons development in a time of war...or a time of peace.

Presidents don't publicly blame previous administrations for their problems.

Presidents don't advocate socialism (nationalized health care, banks, car manufacturers, insurance companies, etc., etc.,).

Presidents don't promote hoaxes like man-made global warming.

Presidents don't grant constitutional rights to foreign terrorists.

Presidents don't take constitutional rights from babies in or out of the womb.

Presidents don't spend the tax payers' money as if it were in limitless supply.

"Life Is Cheap"

My blogging friend Roadie over at Roadhouse Blog--you can find him in my blogroll--is a great writer and has published lots of posts that I really like. He graciously gave me permission to reprint a couple of his posts and I'm reprinting the first one here; it's about stem cell research. Roadie has about the clearest layman's explanation of this issue that I've read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Life is Cheap
by Roadie

Not satisfied with merely peeking into Pandora's box, this week President Obama decided to go ahead and rip the lid off of it in yet another decision designed to show how sophisticated and compassionate he is in comparison to the evil President Bush. Yes, I'm talking about stem cell research. Part of the problem with this particular issue is the mass lack of education of the people on the topic. So here is a very basic tutorial to bring you up to speed.

Stem cells are like the building blocks that our bodies are made of. As technology advances, it is hoped that these cells can be programmed to regenerate faulty organs or even entire nervous systems. It is believed that the cures for cancer or even AIDS will be found via stem cell research. For the record, I believe this myself.

So, what's the problem? Well, there's a little problem with how you go about getting those stem cells. Stem cells can be found in more than one place. They can be found in living adult bodies by taking samples of skin tissue or even bone marrow, without harm to the donor of course. These are known as "adult stem cells". [Stem cells] can also be found in the blood [in] the discarded umbilical cords of newborns, also without harm to the donor. These are known as "cord blood stem cells". Sounds pretty cool so far...right? Now for the controversial part.

Another place [stem] cells can be found [is] in human embryos. These cells are called "embryonic stem cells". For all of you who slept through biology class, an emryo is a person in his/her earliest stages of life. Yes, I said "person". An embryo is not going to grow up to become a tree, a toaster, or an I-pod. It's going to grow to become a person, assuming there are no complications in development. At this point, the uninformed (liberals) might assume the stem cell controversy is just another case of "Bible thumpers" trying to define when life actually starts. Though that is an issue, it's not the issue...at least not for me. My issue is what I call "people farming".

A few years ago there was a moderately successful movie that starred Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson called "The Island". The premise was that there was a corporation whose clients would supply them with DNA in order for them to grow, stock, and "maintain" identical twins for later use as organ donors, according to the need of that client. These "donors" are kept alive in a facility and [are] completely unaware of their purpose thanks to eleborate system of lies and facades controlled by the corporation. As you can imagine, the corporation falls apart when the truth is discovered after the escape of Ewan's and Scartlett's characters. It was early into this movie that I realized that Hollywood had inadvertently provided us with a brilliant case against embryonic stem cells. Though the "big screen" version of the consequences of treating people as parts bins may be a tad exaggerated, it does vividly force you to consider the ethics of such a thing.

I would like to think that there are not people out there who would look at embryonic stem cell research as a way to make a fast buck...but I know better. I would like to think that there will be no pharmaceutical companies that will offer money for the embryos, or women willing to accept such offers...but I know better.

Now that we have decided that embryos are little more than "raw material" to be used at our disposal, I have to wonder what the next step will be. Where will the line be moved to next? Fetuses? Infants? Toddlers? Teens? At what next point do we decide [not] too old to be used as a guinea pig under the false premise of "the greater good" or "science"? Who will get the honor of making that decision?

Also, keep in mind that it is only the media and leftists politicians who imply that conservatives are against all forms of stem cell research. Truth be told, we are for stem cell research just not the type that requires the death of another person.

Universal Health Care Explained

I've always been against universal health care but could never really explain why in a simple, effective way. Below is an article that does just that. It was written by my blogging friend Roadie who blogs at Roadhouse; check him out in my blogroll. Roadie was nice enough to let me reprint his article on PGZ. Once you read this you'll understand perfectly why universal health care is a bad, bad idea.

Universal Health Care Explained
by Terry Leasure, aka Roadie

"There's no such thing as a free lunch." One of many old sayings that have proven to be very accurate. This concept can be applied to many things in life, but none quite as important as life itself and, to a lesser extent, health care. As I watch the presidential candidates try to out-liberal each other on the "health care crisis" I can do little else than shake my head in disgust.

First of all, there is no "health care crisis". Yeah, I said it. Is health care expensive? Yes. Does that constitute a crisis? No. Cars are expensive. College is expensive. Coffee, cable, and blue jeans are expensive, but we don't refer to them as crises. A health care crisis is when there are no doctors to be found. Or when hospitals shut down. Ironically, this will be the result of the liberals' plan for universal health care. Let me explain.

Health care is a service, an important service, but a service nonetheless. It could also be considered a product. For this reason I can use the following analogy. Think of our health care system as the fast food business. Because we have the power to eat at McDonald's or Wendy's, Burger King has to make sure they make a better burger and offer better service than the other two. Arby's has to make sure it offers something even better by virtue of the Beef & Cheddar. Then Subway steps in and offers an even better deal than any of the others. This is called "competition", the end result of which is constantly improving quality, constantly expanding options, and competitive prices for the consumer.

Now, what if the government stepped in and offered free cheeseburgers for everyone? At first, everyone would rejoice. Then we'd notice a few changes. First, we'd notice McDonald's stores closing down, followed by Wendy's and Arby's. After all, no one is buying their products any more. Then we would notice a persistence drop in the quality of our government issued burgers. After all, why does the government need to worry about quality control when they are the only game in town? Menu options? Think again. Extra mayo? Not a chance. Fries? Don't even think about it.

You see, now the people we rely on to make our burgers are government employees. You know, like the friendly folks down at the DMV or the IRS. As long as they don't stick out in the crowd their job is safe. Now that the government has taken the profit out of the food business why bother with ten years of cheeseburger college just to punch a clock for Uncle Sam? Where's the incentive? Who wants to be a burger chef now? Certainly not the cream of the culinary crop. In fact, few people jump at the chance to do the job at all now that the money is taken out of the equation. This leads to burger shortages due to lack of production. Yet the demand increases due to the fact that the burgers are free now, and everyone wants one whether they need it or not.

To get your "free" burger you are put on a waiting list. Six weeks later, you have the cheeseburger you were promised. It is issued to you at a government facility and it resembles exactly what you would think a government issued cheeseburger would look like. If they forget the cheese just fill out the appropriate forms and someone will review your case in six to eight weeks.

Oh, you don't like cheeseburgers? You wanted a Big Mac, or a hoagie? Too bad.

Remember folks, it's one thing to sacrifice the quality and expediency of a cheeseburger for its cost, but what about your child's heart surgery? Do you want free health care or good health care for your child? You can't have both.

Bravo and amen, Roadie!

A Tribute To Our Troops

Here's a moving tribute to our fighting men and women from Kendra, who blogs at A Superhero, Princess & Monkey. Her words echo perfectly what's in my heart for our troops. I'm sure they echo what's in your hearts, too. Thank you, Kendra, for your "thank you" to our brave forces and for letting me post it on my blog.

Thank You

Since we just marked five years in Iraq I thought it would be appropriate to address the American Soldier.

To the Soldier:

Whatever reason inspired you to serve our country I just want to say, "Thank you". Thank you for being brave, for voluteering to serve our country. Thank you to your family whose sacrifices are what make it possibe for you to serve. Thank you for cherishing freedom and protecting me and those I love.

I can not begin to imagine what it must be like to be away from your family and friends, or what life must be like when you leave all that you know and love behind. I do not know you personally but I admire you for what you do and I am so very thankful.

To the family whose child did not return home, my heart breaks for you and I am forever grateful for the sacrifice you made. I will not forget them or you. To the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, and children who serve our country, I can not imagine what it must be like to be apart from those you hold so dear to your heart. Please return home safely.

I salute you and I thank you.

It Makes One Wonder Just Where Are We Going

Hey friends! I'd like to introduce you to a new guest writer for PoorGrrl Zone. His name is Robert and below is his first post for PGZ. I recently posted as a guest writer on his blog Tired Of All The Liberal Rhetoric Out There. Robert writes in blue on his blog. I was going to put his post in blue on PGZ but I can't figure out how to do it. So, for now, Robert's post(s) will be in italics to distinguish them from mine. I try to read Robert's blog everyday. I like what he says and I like the way he says it. I hope you will, too.

It Makes One Wonder Just Where Are We Going

by Robert

I have been listening to the news lately and this post has nothing really to do with politics, or Democrats, or Republicans. I just want to ask everyone: just where is this country heading?

On the news here in Indiana, over the past few days, has been a story of a couple who beat their infant girl to death with a belt. And in the weeks preceeding her death they tortured her. Now here comes my question again. Just where are we going? What is wrong with our country when we have parents torturing their little children and then killing them with a belt?

The story went to trial today, with the parents going to court over this. It seems that Child Protective Services are the ones that really screwed up here. Months ago these two parents were hauled in for abuse on the little girl and the government took her away from them, only to give her back later. NOW SHE IS DEAD!!! I hope the parents get the most the law will give, with no chance of parole. Period! Killing that little girl was totally uncalled for.

What in the heck is the problem with this country?!

Growing up, I don't remember anything aobut parents killing their kids. Now I'm sure that it happened, but I doubt it happened with the intensity it is now. And the problem here people is that this horrible story of an infant's death isn't the only one. There was a story like it out of Georgia, too. I don't know the details on that one but I DO know that we have to get back to the moral and just America of the past and away from the PC crowd that is destroying this country.

We've got to stop believing the drive-by media and start listening to our common sense and our intelligence. We need to listen to our hearts 'cause if we don't this violence that we are seeing will only be the beginning. Our future will be a hell of violence. Mark my words on this, people. If you don't believe me look back over the past few decades and notice the increase of violence to the youngest and most vulnerable in our society. We have to stop it. We must turn to God, or our higher power. Everyone has one. We must look to our conscience and stop the bad we're doing to one another. And always remember, we need God's blessings now more than ever.

God Bless America!
God Bless our Troops with their mission
God Bless my Readers and Listeners

Hey friends. I hope you like Robert's post. It's a tragic subject but one we have to face and ask the question Robert asked. After all, the only people who will save our children and our country is us.
