Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to my blogging buddies and the 48% of Americans who voted for McCain! The rest of you can go to hell, unless you're related to me by blood, law, or love.
You're a good egg Seane-Anna, though Roady's right....not only is it "giving opponents what they want," at this poiont, it's unwarranted.
Obama has named the War on Terror (WoT) hawk and pro-Iraq war Hillary as Sect'y of State, kept Gates on as Sect'y of Defense andnamed a very market-oriented economic team, while ending all talk of expiring the "Bush tax cuts" early.
Obama's moves, many dictated by the realities of office have the hard-left scrambling.
Chris Mathews has said, "I believe he's named a Right-wing cabinet so that he can move left."
Makes no sense whatsoever!
There's no need for Obama to court the Right at all at this point, but if that makes Mathews feeel better...good luck with that, Chris.
Look, bottom-line, results are all that ultimately matter.
IF team Obama moves toward market principles and becomes more hawkish on the WoT, I'll be pretty happy.
I'm a CONSERVATIVE NOT a Republican, so IF an Obama administration steals some GOP thunder, from an administration (Bush's) that, except for his Cap Gains and across the board income tax rate cuts, was as Keynesian as his Dad's, so be it.
The so-called "Moderate Republicans" never have had any respect for the Conservative base. In fact, Rahm Emanuel has more in common with most Conservatives than do most Moderate Republicans!
The Obama administration hasn't even been sworn in yet.
At this point, I'm cautiously optimistic...I'm hoping for the best.
Since the election, there's been no reason to be mad at Obama at all. Hell, it's McCain who screwed the pooch!
When a plumber from Ohio makes your economic arguments better than you can, that's a bad sign....and that was just one among many for McCain this time around.
